Sjava’s hotel room caught fire while he was burning imphepho

Musician Sjava almost burned the entire hotel in Durban after burning too much Imphepho, and his hotel room caught fire. This unfortunate incident happened last Sunday in one of the most prominent hotels in South Beach.


According to a hotel staff member, the talented Sjava booked the hotel for three nights, and on his last night, he decided it was a good idea to communicate to his ancestors from the fifth floor with a sea view. For such a luxurious way of talking to abaphanzi, he must have thought he should burn a giant bundle of imphepho.

“Sjava was lucky because he managed to run out of the room before passing out in the passage due to smoke inhalation, the fire was hard to contain, and it was already burning the passage carpet when our man eventually extinguished it. Sjava was fine a few minutes later after getting fresh air, and he explained what happened, and it was the hilarious thing I’ve ever heard.”




The hotel staff, who wishes to remain nameless, said Sjava told them that he did have a lot of impepho in the room and he was shocked to see it burn like a bonfire. He said the moment he put a match on it; it started burning big and bright that it touched the ceiling. Unfortunately, it did not trigger the fire extinguisher for some reason, still to be investigated.
